Starting off as stern and no-nonsense (with a grudge against Lionel Hutz for running over his son repeatedly), Snyder later became known for his lenient punishments.
Model for Character
Judge Snyder also bears a resemblance to Judge Robert Bork as well as Judge Joe Brown.
Role in The Simpsons
In the earlier years of the show he was more often seen as a judge who was no-nonsense. However, as Judge Constance Harm came to the show he started to negioate more with his witnesses as Judge Harm gave more harsh punishments.
Continuity and Errors
In earlier episodes he has yellow skin; in Bart Gets Hit by a Car his name is Moulton; his usual name may be an allusion to Judge Roy Bean.
