The Leprechaun is a very small green leprechaun who has appeared in many episodes of The Simpsons. He has shaggy eyebrows and a beard and is dressed all in green with a coatee (short jacket) and waistcoat, a bowler hat or canvas sailor's hat with a shamrock in the hatband, short pants and light- and dark-green-banded stockings, and dark green shoes with gold buckles. He always carries a white clay pipe in his teeth to complete the stereotype.

He first appeared in This Little Wiggy as Ralph's imaginary friend who told him to burn things. He later appeared in Treehouse of Horror XII in which Homer had to use him to defeat the Gypsy. He also appears in Kill Gil Vols. 1 & 2 during Gil, Kirk Van Houten, and the Crazy Cat Lady's St. Patrick's Day Song. He made his most recent appearances were in You Kent Always Say What You Want in the parade at the beginning, All About Lisa Attacks Homer & Bart in The well and Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes where he is featured alongside his orange (Northern Irish) doppelganger. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
