Laura Powers lives next door to the Simpsons and is the only child of single-parent divorceé Ruth Powers.

Biography

Laura and her mother Ruth moved into the house next door when The Winfields moved out. Marge and Ruth became fast friends; so did Laura and Bart. After Laura told Bart's fortune, he developed a crush on her, but ended up in heartbreak when he found out she was in love with Jimbo Jones. Eventually, Laura decided that Jimbo was no good for her and said that she would date Bart if he were a little older: "If you had a bad teenage moustache, I'd go out with you in a second." Bart has never seen her again since, but has gotten over her. Like her mother, she took up bodybuilding only she didn't use steroids and ended up in better shape then she did.
