Character Information
|
Squeaky Voiced Teen, also known as Jeremy Freedman, (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) is one of few teenagers on the show and is perpetually trapped in a series of dead-end jobs. He is also referred to as "Pimple-faced teen", "Pimple-faced kid", "Puberty Boy", "Geeky Teenager", and, on one occasion, "Old Man Peterson". The squeaky-voiced teen has acne vulgaris, and his voice is in the process of breaking.

Character Traits
Suicide Attempt and Romantic Life
In "Fraudcast News" he attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff, because FOX cancelled Futurama. He landed in a car in which two teens were making out, crushing one of them. The attractive girl then said You crushed my boyfriend! You'd better be good at making out. In "Mom and Pop Art", he is an employee at Mom & Pop Hardware, wearing the 'Pop' nametag. He tells Bart that he's only working there to "get a date with 'Mom' [another employee]". Later in the episode, he is shown making out with her.
Self Defense
In "Marge vs. Singles, Seniors, Childless Couples and Teens, and Gays", he lost his squeaky voice to "become a man", after Lindsey Naegle suggested that the adults "kill every child... friendly thing in town".
Real Name
Seymour Skinner refers to the character as "Jeremy" in a deleted scene on The Complete Fifth Season DVD.
Jobs
He has had many jobs. He is regularly seen in Krusty Burger, though has also worked in the Grocery Store and the movie theatre (in The Simpsons Movie). In "Hail to the Cat", he works for a company called Book Returns. In 2003, he went to film school and became a Janitor.
Family
In the season 7 episode "Team Homer", it is implied that Lunchlady Doris is actually his mother, when he calls his mom and she replies "I have no son". Also in The Simpson Classic Collection Volume 3 Top Trumps, on his card it says 'Secret shame: Disowned by his mother, Lunchlady Doris'.
Surname
His surname is also hinted in the episode "Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy" when Abraham Simpson quits his job at Krusty Burger; Abe refers to him as "Mr. Peterson". In "G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)", he is referred to as "Mr. Freedman" by Dolph. His surname is presumably Freedman, probably due to Grampa's inability to correctly identify a person, and because "G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)" is a more recent episode.
Voice
In The Simpsons Game (the PS3/Xbox 360 version), It is stated that the reason he talks in his squeaky voice is because he's always nervous. The alien he was talking to threatens to kill him if he's still nervous. He stops being nervous and his voice is very deep.
