Mr. Mitchell is a blind man who adopted Santa's Little Helper.

History

Bart gave away Santa's Little Helper he could instead keep a more preferable dog, Laddie. Bart later gave up Laddie to the police and tried to get Santa's Little Helper back. He found out that Reverend Lovejoy gave him to a blind man, Mr. Mitchell, who had renamed him Sprinkles. Bart tried to steal the dog back however Mr. Mitchell called the police. Eventually Mr. Mitchell returned Santa's Little Helper to Bart since the two had a strong bond. When the police arrived, Laddie found a bag of marijuana in Mr. Mitchell's pocket. He insisted it was medicinal and without it he "could go blinder".[1]

He took part in the world's tallest human pyramid record attempt.[2]

He appeared at Phish's concert to keep medical marijuana legalized.[3]

He was briefly seen in a news report about Mona Simpson's time on the run from the authorities.[4]

When Lisa started adopting animals she accidently took Mr. Mitchell's guide dog.[5]

Behind the Laughter

John Turturro originally recorded the role of Mr. Mitchell, but was re-dubbed with Castellaneta when some of his dialogue was re-written and he refused to re-record it.[6]
