History

When Homer was fleeing from the tyranny of a space pod conspiracy he was running a few steps next to Pete Benson who was apparently being chased by a plague of zombies. As Pete turned off towards an abandoned shopping mall, the two bid each other good luck with their respective problems.

Behind the Laughter

  • The character is likely a reference to the real Pete Benson, an employee at Bongo Comics.[1]
  • Pete going to an abandoned shopping mall is a reference to the movie Dawn of the Dead.
