Biography
Akira helped Homer, Bart, and Lisa Simpson discover the origin of the mysterious Japanese "Mr. Sparkle" dish-washing detergent box (Mr. Sparkle bearing a striking resemblance to Homer)[1]. He nearly kills Homer due to the fact that Homer asked for the fugu blowfish, which can only be properly prepared by the chef (who's busy making out in his car).
Akira, Luigi Risotto, Captain McAllister, and other restaurant owners of Springfield, planned an assassination on Homer for giving their restaurants bad reviews. He helps Marge train for an MMA fight [2].
Immigrant Status
Akira is a permanent resident alien because he is seen taking the citizenship test.
