Richie Sakai is anesthesiologist who sang in the karaoke bar at the Happy Sumo restaurant. He is modeled and named after long-time producer Richard Sakai, but he is voiced by Dan Castellaneta. He sings "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" which he dedicates to his wife, Pattie.
He later appeared in Sideshow Bob Roberts in Sideshow Bob's campaign ad as one of the convicts escaping from the revolving door prisons.
In Jazzy and the Pussycats he is mentioned in a long list of jazz musicians. He plays the vibraphone.
