The Honorable Averell Ward is the American ambassador to Australia.
History
The Simpson family met him after the Australian government demanded that Bart came to Australia and apologize for his prank phone call. He negotiated with the Australians to lessen the punishment to a smaller shoe that Bart later rejected as well.
