Behind the Laughter
His company's name, "Plan Nine Comics," is a reference to the movie Plan 9 from Outer Space, which is often considered the worst movie of all time. The character was named after Fantagraphics Books Associate Publisher Eric Reynolds by Simpsons writer/producer Dana Gould.
