The Very Tall Man is a minor character that first appeared in "22 Short Films About Springfield" which was his only speaking role and reappeared in several following seasons. An extremely tall man who drives a Volkswagen Beetle and teaches bullies lessons, he once Nelson was playing pranks and it caught the attention of this rather tall man, who proceeded to get out of his car and make Nelson take off his pants, so everyone could laugh at him. He made Nelson walk through the streets as he drove behind him. He shops at Royal Majesty for the Obese or Gangly Gentleman.

He is a cartoon version of writer Ian Maxtone-Graham.
