Great Aunt Hortense first appeared in Heaven in Bart Gets Hit by a Car. She dies in Bart the Fink, where she dies, suggesting that the events of Bart Gets Hit by a Car happen before the events of Bart the Fink. The Simpson family expects to inherit her estate, but instead each member is given $100 (except for Maggie). The rest was given to Ann Landers (as stated in Hortense's will).
