The My Ding-a-Ling Boy (real name not known) is a Springfield Elementary School student who participated in the school's talent show. His entry consisted of singing a crude rendition of the Chuck Berry tune "My Ding-a-Ling". However, he only got through half of the chorus before Principal Skinner stopped him and bodily escorted him off of the stage.
Behind the Laughter
"My Ding-a-Ling" was a #1 hit for Chuck Berry in the early 1970s, but generated controversy because of the numerous double entendres in the lyrics. Many radio stations flatly refused to play the song, referenced by Skinner's removing the My Ding-a-Ling Kid from the stage.
