Gus "The Gut" Gustavson is the star of the food reality TV show Stuff Me, which is the top-rated show on the Glut Channel.
History
In his show, Gustavson travels to different restaurants and eats their "challenge" dishes. In the episode that the Simpsons watched, Gustavson visited The Old Bacon-Fudge Hut, where the challenge dish was the "Fudginator". Restaurant worker Stan described it as "Two pounds of applewood-smoked bacon enrobed in three pounds of our buttery-rich maple fudge." Gustavson polished it off in just under four minutes, winning a T-shirt reading "I Beat the Fudginator" and an ambulance ride to the hospital. The episode gave Bart the idea of getting Homer on TV by taking him to a taping of The Krusty the Clown Show.
Behind the Laughter
Gus is a parody of Guy Fieri, host and star of the food reality TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
