Lucy's boss is a character from the television show I Lost Lucy, who was Lucy Carbunkle's boss at a bank.
History[edit]
In one episode he visited her grave and told her that they really needed her at the bank because Robert Wagner was coming in to open an account.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- The dates on the gravestone (1911-1989) correspond to Lucille Ball's actual lifespan.
- While the program's title is an obvious wordplay on I Love Lucy, the boss is a parody of bank president Mr. Mooney, a character from The Lucy Show. On the show, Mr. Mooney was at first Lucy's financial manager, and later, her boss, after she began working at the bank.
- Lucy's boss is based on Gale Gordon, who played Mr. Mooney.
