Character Information
|
Sam Monroe is a girl who Lisa befriended.
History[edit]
On the school bus, Lisa looked out the window when she was sad about not having a friend. As the bus drove past Sam's house, Lisa noticed Sam outside playing her clarinet. They smiled at each other. That night during dinner, Lisa kept bringing this girl up as she thought they could be friends, however, her family wasn't interested in the conversation and focused on TV instead. The next day, Lisa told Otto to stop the bus and got off in Sam's district. She went to Sam's house and noticed she was upstairs crying. Lisa let herself into the house and went to meet her.
Lisa and Sam immediately hit it off with each other, both realizing they were very similar people. When Lisa mentioned to Sam that she played the saxophone, Sam let Lisa borrow one of hers and they played music together. That night, Lisa stayed for dinner with Sam's family and loved how different they were to her own family. One day when Lisa was staying for dinner, she learned that Sam and her family were moving away. Thinking that they would never get to meet her family, Lisa started lying about her family, making them seem more impressive than they actually were. She then doubled down on this lie when she convinced Ned Flanders to pretend to be her father in front of Sam and Mr. Monroe.
Soon after, Sam revealed to Lisa that they weren't moving after all. Lisa was happy to be able to keep her friend, but also doubled down on the lies she was telling, saying that her family were moving to Portugal and then changed her story to Lithuania. Sam thought Lisa was going too and told her that she would miss her. After Lisa said that she wasn't going with her family, Sam's family offered to let Lisa stay with them. Lisa then started going back and forth between her house and Sam's house, lying to both families.
When Marge found out about the lie, she made Lisa invite Sam's family over for dinner. They came on Saturday and Lisa revealed to them that she had been lying to them the whole time. Mr. Monroe then revealed that he had lied to Lisa too and they all forgave her before going up to Bart's room to hang out.[1]
