Homer then goes to [[Moe's Tavern]] where they had just finished setting up a suprise party for [[Lenny]] which Homer ruins and Homer is kicked out. Homer then goes to a bar named [[Knockers]] and Homer ends up meeting a roofer named Ray Magini who agrees to fix Homer's roof. When fixing the roof with Homer when Bart, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and [[Santa's Little Helper]] are visiting [[Grampa]] Ray and Homer then play a nail fight which destroys [[Ned]]'s tractor lawn mower and Homer tries to introduce Ray to Ned Flanders but Ned can't see him. Ray then leaves when Homer's family returns. Homer then spends all night waiting for Ray and goes to get shingles for Bart the next day. Homer sees Ray there but Bart can't see Ray at all. Homer then gets sent to the [[Calmwood Mental Hospital]] and discovers he was hallucinating Ray because he was lonely and needed a friend and no one even the bartender at Knockers saw Ray. Lisa also added that 'Ray Magini' was 'Imaginary' with its letters rearranged. When Homer sees Ray through the window of the hospital and Homer is declared mental. Homer is forced to stay at the hospital for six weeks and fails all his tests and then his family, Ned, the bartender at Knockers, and Ray come to get Homer and tell Homer Ray was real after all. The bartender did see Ray but didn't see him when Homer was next to him because he had an eyepatch on his eye which did not allow him to see where Ray is. Ned couldn't see Ray because Ray was hiding behind the chimeny, but Bart does not get why he did not see Ray. [[Stephen Hawking]] then says the tons of shingles at [[Builder's Barn]] created a mini black hole which created a space time continum meaning anyone behind Ray or a few feet away from Ray can't see him and no one gets what Stephen Hawking is saying not even Lisa who pretends to get what he is saying. Marge then asks Ray why he started fixing the roof and stopped and Ray said he stopped because he is a contractor and Homer did not sign a contract. The problem is then solved when Homer and Ray sit on the roof drinking beer and [[Dr. Hibbert]] fixes the roof for Homer.

Ray Magini is a roofer who Homer befriended.

Profile[edit]

Everyone thought Ray didn't exist and that Homer was the only one who saw him. Ray makes an appearance in front of the townspeople after everyone thinks Homer is going crazy, proving he does exist and is not just a product of Homer's imagination. Ray Magini is an anagram for "imaginary". The Bartender at Knockers couldn't see him because of his eye patch, Flanders couldn't see him because he hid behind the chimney, and Bart couldn't see him because of a complicated set of circumstances, later explained by Stephen Hawking.[1]

Ray is later seen as part of the angry mob looking for Homer during Trappuccino.[2]

Occupations[edit]

Ray is a roofer (although he doesn't seem to have received much education in roofing). He also sometimes stacks items in hardware stores.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Ray Magini is voiced by Ray Romano and was designed to look and talk like him.
