The honorable Avril Ward (pronouned A-vril, rhymes with April) is the American ambassador to Australia. The Simpsons Family meet Ward after the Australian government demands that Bart come to Australia and apologize for his prank phone call. He negotiated with the Australians to lessen the punishment to a smaller shoe that Bart later rejected as well.
