Mr. Thai is the owner of the restaurant You Thai Now, which is located in downtown Springfield.

History

Mr. Thai relies on profits from the restaurant to send his daughters to small liberal arts colleges (one of them is on the waiting list at Bennington College). To that end, he advertises heavily by distributing You Thai Now's menus all over town, and hired Bart as a menu boy. When Bart didn't do well at the job at first, Mr. Thai took him under his wing and gave him some training. After that, Bart became a menu distribution expert and enjoyed the job.

Mr. Thai later tried to buy Springfield's oldest redwood tree to turn it into Thai menus.[1]
