Truong Van Dinh was a finalist for Reading Digest's essay competition.
History[edit]
Lisa was introduced to him by Faith Crowley. He had won both the Westing House talent search and the NFL punt, pass and kick competition. At the final of the Reading Digest competition, he told of how his parents emigrated to the United States with little money, and through hard work and little regulation, they went on to own a chain of auto repair shops, whereupon he praised America for its economic freedom. Lisa gave a negative speech which attacked corruption and ultimately exposed the backhanded dealings of Bob Arnold, leading to his arrest.
Troung won the Reading Digest essay competition and was presented with a giant check for $10,000. He graciously praised all children who participated, and said that while Lisa's speech was negative, it deserved special recognition for exposing political machines.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
