Ringo Starr is a musician who is most famous for being the drummer in The Beatles. Ringo replied to a letter Marge had written to him when she was younger. He was determined to answer every piece of fan mail he had ever received, and in his reply to Marge he stated that "In England we call French fries chips". It was revealed that Marge had painted several pictures of herself and Ringo together, and it led to her becoming interested in painting again.
The Be Sharps is a parody on The Beatles.
In Homer's Barbershop Quartet, one of Marge's portraits of Ringo appears at the swap meet.
