Truong Van Dinh was a finalist for Reading Digest's essay competition.
History
Lisa was introduced to him by Faith Crowley. He has won both the Westing House talent search and the NFL punt, pass and kick competition. At the final speeches of the Reading Digest competition, he tells of how his parents emigrated to the United States with little money, and through hard work and little regulation, they went on to own a chain of auto repair shops, whereupon he praises America for economic freedom. Lisa gave a negative speech which attacked corruption and ultimately exposed the backhanded dealings of Bob Arnold, leading to his arrest.
Troung wins the Reading Digest essay competition and is presented with a giant check for $10,000. He graciously praises all children who participated, and says that while Lisa's speech was negative, it deserved special recognition for exposing political machines.
