History

Deuce in his younger days

When Homer was little, Abe and Mona Simpson visited Discord Plaza Marriage Counseling every week, which was next door to Deuce's Caboose Chili Dogs. Homer used to sit on the stall outside of Deuce's Caboose and Abe would tell Deuce to give him a small soda. Deuce, feeling sorry for Homer, started to give him free chili dogs and struck up a bond with Homer, calling him his "little H-Dog". Eventually, Homer stopped going to Deuce's Caboose and due to him being young an stupid, he forgot all about Deuce.

Years later, after several fast food restaurants in Springfield started serving healthy food, Homer found himself at Deuce's Caboose again, being one of the last places to serve unhealthy food in town. Homer started to visit the place every day and struck up a friendship with Deuce again. After being reminded of the time he spent with Deuce as a child, Homer asked Deuce if he remembered him, but Deuce told Homer that he didn't, because he was old.

Eventually, Deuce was offered a lot of money to sell Deuce's Caboose and he took it. Homer, upset that it was being sold, decided to chain it to his car and drive off with it. After it crashed and hung off a bridge, Deuce ran up to Homer, who was hanging onto it, and was scared because he didn't want his "little H-Dog" to die. Homer was surprised that Deuce did remember him and Deuce explained that he thought he failed Homer because Homer needed a father figure but all Deuce could give him was hot dogs. Homer told Deuce that he got him through his childhood, not the hot dogs. Deuce then grabbed Homer and pulled him to safety and they hugged.
