The Springfield Downs Kid was a young boy whose father was addicted to the Springfield Downs. He appeared briefly in Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire, where he begged his dad to open his Christmas presents at the Christmas Eve race, but their tradition was to open them after the eighth race.
