Character Information

Mr. Boswell is a famous fashion critic who served as a judge for the Miss American Girl Pageant.
History
Homer, Lisa and Bart were watching the Miss American Girl Pageant on TV. Host Troy McClure introduced the panel of judges, describing Mr. Boswell as "the man behind those infamous worst-dressed lists". McClure then asked Boswell for "a sneak peek at this year's list". Boswell replied, "Memo to Goldie Hawn: Cheerleading tryouts were thirty years ago. Let's grow up, shall we?"
The studio audience laughed uproariously. Bart, watching at home, also laughed, and said, "He's such a bitch!"
Behind the Laughter
- Mr. Boswell is a parody of Richard Blackwell (1922–2008), a fashion designer and critic who was best known as "Mr. Blackwell" and was most famous for his annual "Ten Worst Dressed Women List".
