The Simpsons: Tapped Out Treehouse of Horror XXVIII content update was released on October 3rd, 2017 and is the one hundred and fifty-seventh content update. It's the game's sixth Halloween event, after Treehouse of Horror XXIII, Treehouse of Horror XXIV, Treehouse of Horror XXV, Treehouse of Horror 2015 and Treehouse of Horror XXVII.

- Magic Act Milhouse's original quest was changed to be startable after the event ends.
- In Weapons of Mass Audio Production Pt. 1, instead of any Rock performance, one must send Peter D'Abbruzio to perform.
- In Freaky Lip Sync'd Friday Pt. 1, instead of any Pop performance, one must send Alaska Nebraska to perform.
- In One Hit Wonder Brick Wall Pt. 1, instead of any Hip-Hop performance, one must send Rappin' Bart to perform.

- Pumpkin House now builds in 6 seconds.
- Pet Cemetary, Clawing Zombie and Snarling Zombie bundle and Bad Dream House and The Raven now autoconsume.
- Acorn Kirk and Squirrel Luann joined jobs were fixed.
- Bob's Victorian House can now be built from the inventory.
- Tuxedo Krusty's 12h and 24h jobs were added back.
October 4th Update ("4_29_THOH2017_Patch1")
- Angelica Button and the Mystical Beasts Pt. 2 now correctly rewards Wizard Bart, Wizard Lisa and Magic Act Milhouse. If the user already reached Pt. 4, they'll be rewarded on logging in.
