The Simpsons: Tapped Out Thanksgiving 2014/"Covercraft" episode tie-in content update was released on November 20, 2014. It was 13.7MB, and a cross between a mini-event and an episode tie-in. An update was later pushed to add Black Friday deals for premium items, where a certain amount of donuts were rebated on items.

The "Thanksgiving" menu in the store was unlocked after completing the "myPad" quest and starting the "Thanksgiving Season 2014" quest. Its description stated, "Thanksgiving has landed! For a limited time, get all the Thanksgiving items here!".

The episode tie-in content was available until 8am GMT on November 25, 2014. The Thanksgiving content was available until December 2, 2014 at 8am GMT, at which point the event will end, as well as the Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals.

On November 27, 2014, Thanksgiving, a 13.8MB in-game update was installed, file-named "v4_11_Thanksgiving2014_Patch2_PostLaunch", adding the Black Friday deals.

The Black Friday deals launched on November 28, 2014 at 8am GMT. There will be an offer to buy the Truckasaurus for 225 on Cyber Monday, December 1, 2014.

Gil, upon entering your town and if there is a new rebate offer, spawned and said: "Check out our newest rebate offer!", at which point he appeared with the over his head, which upon tapping lead to the Black Friday menu, and he disappeared (In Krustyland, this lead to the "Characters" menu). On Cyber Monday, Gil appeared with over his head.

From 8am on December 1st to 8am on December 2nd, the Truckasaurus will be offered for 225. In the files, for the Black Friday update, the quests are listed as being "qst_RecommendCyberMondayHour2_" - "qst_RecommendCyberMondayHour24_". It appeared "qst_RecommendThanksgiving2014_" may have been related to the first hour, which wasn't listed at all. It appears something would have been triggered with the latter, however, with the Nov. 28th update, the quest was listed as "deprecated" and it is still unknown what the status of new quest "qst_RecommendThanksgiving2014Again_" is; presumably the latter replaced the former due to ID change.

	Well, Black Friday has nothing to do with football, or anything else fun.
	It's about shopping for deals in the most unpleasant way possible!
	And to celebrate we're offering limited-time donut rebates on selected items!
	That doesn't sound bad. What's the unpleasant part?
	Rather than offer all our deals at once for the whole weekend, we're offering them one at a time every hour for an hour.

Four new character groups were added: Regular Male, Regular Female, Premium Male, and Premium Female. These are used to send groups of characters to various tasks in the "Covercraft" episode tie-in quests.
The sound file "HOMER_JOB-GOOD1.caf" (the "D'oh" sound) was changed from playing when Homer gets assigned a good job to a bad job.
This update added the "Heimlich Machine", one frame of the animation of which, now altered, was found in the Treehouse of Horror XXV event.

November 21 update

The Mayflower is no longer limited-time, rectifying a change made in the original update.

November 27 update

The Thanksgiving Store-front image was re-added, as well as Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. The Thanksgiving menu-section-image on the Store-Front's description has now been erroneously replaced with "Black Friday has landed! For a limited time, get all the black Friday items here!", which is the description for the Black Friday menu-section-image on the Store Front.
Players have encountered a glitch where the "Leftovers" quest will not trigger and Puritan Flanders' "Self Punish" task now required "(Null)*", disabling the task and rendering the task unusable. It also appears the one-time Outdoor Feast Table task "Host a Peace Feast for Puritan Flanders" for Sacagawea Lisa had disappeared as well.
Reportedly fixes the years-old Springfield General Hospital glitch that leaves many players without the ability to build it due to Chester's quests involving the building when it might not be built. It is unknown whether something has been fixed for players WITHOUT Chester.

November 28 update (13.8MB update)

Tapped Out River Textured Incorrectly.png

Fixes "Leftovers" quest not triggering, due to in the original launch files for November 28th is labelled "Thanksgiving 2014 Deprecate Quests". It added a hidden "qst_CheckIfThanksgivingMeal02Complete_" quest in order for the "Leftovers" quest and the rest of the event questline to occur.
In the "Move/Build" menu, the River is textured with snow, like in the Christmas events.

December 1 update

Fixed glitch with Guitar Central where when you try to store it, instead of giving you the option to "Use", it displayed "*null".
