The Simpsons: Tapped Out Superheroes content update was released on February 18, 2015, under a new app version 4.13.0. This event follows on from the hint players were receiving Fallout Boy in Valentine's Day 2015. There will be three prize tracks in this event, like Halloween 2014. The event is split into four parts, theretically five with a "Crossover" planned. There is also crafting enabled at the Android's Dungeon, and Personal Prizes for each part. The event will end on March 31, 2015.

The premise of the event is Criminals invading Springfield. Part One of the event began on February 17, 2015 at 8am (GMT). Part Two will begin on February 22 at 8am, Part Three on March 10 at 8am, the "Crossover" starts on March 23 at 9am, Part Four begins March 24 at 8am, and the event ends March 31 at 8am.
+
Superheroes is the seventy-sixth content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It started on February 18, 2015 and ended on March 31, 2015. It was the first Superheroes-themed update for the game.

Carbon Rods and Freeze Rays are currency (presumably for Part 1).

The first version of the event was released on February 18, 2015, file-named: "v4_13_SUPERHEROES_PATCH1_PRELAUNCH".

This update contains a new, event-exclusive cutscene which formulates the questline, which means that the update will require needing access to "Photos/Media/Files" on Android devices prior to installing.

After installing there is a 13.5MB update, then a 32.2MB, then a 430.4MB. There is a new font and dialogue layout (system messages also). There is new ambient music.

Upgrading
 +
The Superior Squad HQ can be upgraded for larger task payouts and a larger Criminal-tap radius. You can use Arbitrarium, which can be collected in various ways after "A New Hero Rises Pt. 1". Upgrading is not necessary, but is to complete both quests in the mini-questline "Superior-ior Squad HQ". Fireworks and a brief soundtrack happen when levelling up.

At Level 0, the reward is 0 every 4 hours. Then, once you level up to 1, it is 35 every 4 hours. Every time you upgrade, there are 10 more rewarded every 4 hours. For example, at Level 7 you have 95 every 4 hours.

Friend Actions
 +
In a friends' town, you can do SIX daily actions, as opposed to the usual three. Three of them are tapping Criminals, while the other are reporting crimes, which can be done by tapping on the phone icon above all buildings. Only the latter rewards cash, while all reward Carbon Rods.
 +

 +
After tapping on Spied-on Buildings, the yellow logo will disappear and a message will pop up saying "Spied by [player name]". Spied-on Buildings will also have their animations running while the yellow logo is above it.

 +
Felons are like Criminals, but can only be cleared using Superhero costumes for characters/Fallout Boy obtained in the event during the quest: "Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2". Burns State Prison spawns 1 Felon every 8 hours, and one upon building.<!---Although, in my case, Tapped Out stopped working in the middle of the dialogue after and when I logged back in - another spawned!---> Felons also have three hearts, meaning the task must be done three times on one Felon to defeat it. Only 6 Felons can be in one town at a time.
 +

It costs 100 to rush the reward.

Crafting
 +
After starting The Collector Pt. 3, Crafting is enabled by tapping on the Android's Dungeon. Crafting items can be collected by defeating Felons and capturing Criminals. At first, one can only craft the Botanical Garden, but after crafting it, you can craft Zenith City buildings, multiple times (except for the Zenith City Times which is unique).

 +
*If you tap Arnie Pye in the air by mistake from anywhere in your town the screen automatically redirects to Channel 6 and reveals his "In Task" time/rush meter.
 +

Gameplay[edit]

Upgrading[edit]

The Superior Squad HQ can be upgraded for larger task payouts and a larger Criminal-tap radius. You can use Arbitrarium, which can be collected in various ways after "A New Hero Rises Pt. 1". Upgrading is not necessary, but is to complete both quests in the mini-questline "Superior-ior Squad HQ". Fireworks and a brief soundtrack happen when levelling up.

Superior Squad HQ rewards[edit]

At Level 0, the reward is Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png0 every 4 hours. Then, once you level up to 1, it is Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png35 every 4 hours. Every time you upgrade, there are Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png10 more rewarded every 4 hours. For example, at Level 7 you have Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png95 every 4 hours.

Friend Actions[edit]

In a friends' town, you can do SIX daily actions, as opposed to the usual three. Three of them are tapping Criminals, while the other are reporting crimes, which can be done by tapping on the phone icon above all buildings. Only the latter rewards cash, while all reward Carbon Rods.

After tapping on Spied-on Buildings, the yellow logo will disappear and a message will pop up saying "Spied by [player name]". Spied-on Buildings will also have their animations running while the yellow logo is above it.

Criminals[edit]

Criminals first appear in towns during the quest "A New Hero Rises Pt. 1". You tap on them to collect event currency, and have a chance to dispense of Arbitrarium, which is used to level up Superior Squad HQ.

Note: Criminals from a phase previous to the one that is currently active will drop the current phase currency.

Felons[edit]

A guide to Felons (which appears after completing Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2.)

Felons are like Criminals, but can only be cleared using Superhero costumes for characters/Fallout Boy obtained in the event during the quest: "Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2". Burns State Prison spawns 1 Felon every 8 hours, and one upon building. Felons also have three hearts, meaning the task must be done three times on one Felon to defeat it. Only 6 Felons can be in one town at a time.

It costs Donut100 to rush the reward.

Task: "Fight Felon"
Superhero Duration Reward
1 Heart Down 2 Hearts Down 3 Hearts Down
Plopper 3h Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png25 Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png75 Tapped Out Carbon Rod.pngTapped Out Pie-bomb.pngTapped Out Freeze Ray.png150

Clownface

"Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2" unlocks most of the Felon's features. After the quest pops up in the taskbook:

When the task "In Battle" by a Felon is finished, the game will send a notification to the device reading "Felon has finished In Battle." After one heart is depleted, an animation of a breaking heart will appear above the Felon's head.

Crafting[edit]

After starting The Collector Pt. 3, Crafting is enabled by tapping on the Android's Dungeon. Crafting items can be collected by defeating Felons and capturing Criminals. At first, one can only craft the Botanical Garden, but after crafting it, you can craft Zenith City buildings, multiple times (except for the Zenith City Times which is unique).

Attacking The Radioactive Man Statue[edit]

During the quests "Monumental Battle Pt. 1", "Monumental Battle Pt. 3", "Monumental Battle Pt. 6" and "Monumental Battle Pt. 8", Heroes must attack the Radioactive Man Statue to weaken it. Heroes from the event can be used to weaken it, but 4 additional characters' skins can be used.
After completing "Conclusion", the user unlocks the ability to choose Radioactive Man Statue's skin and the 10h job for the heroes Train For Future Conflict.
Only Bartman, The Collector, Fallout Boy, Pie Man, Clownface, Fruit-Bat-Man and Plopper can do this job.
