Doctor Who is a long-running British sci-fi show. It has run since 1963 and new series are still made. Matt Groening claims to be a fan of Doctor Who. The show has often been referenced in The Simpsons, usually with the Fourth Incarnation of The Doctor appearing, as portrayed by Tom Baker.

2009 Specials "The End of Time" After the Doctor is rescued, he is strapped to a wheelchair. As he's pleading with his rescuers (the Vinvocci) to unstrap him, they wheel him down a flight of stairs. Halfway down, he shouts "Worst! Rescue! EVER!" very much in the manner of Comic Book Guy and his catchphrase.
