Band Information
|
Simon & Garfunkel were an American music duo consisting of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.
History[edit]
While attempting to sell Sprinkle King hose nozzles, Principal Skinner said that the Sprinkle King, Sprinkle Queen and Sprinkle King Deluxe were "the Simon & Garfunkel plus one of hose nozzle dispersal arrays".[1]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The Season 4 episode "Lady Bouvier's Lover" contains several references to scenes from the film "The Graduate", for which Simon & Garfunkel provided the soundtrack; the closing song of that episode is a parody of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence".
In the Season 7 episode "Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two)", Mr. Burns sings "Hello, lamp lost, whatcha knowin'? I've come to watch your power flowin'", a reference to Simon & Garfunkel's song "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)".
Appearances[edit]
- Episode – "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass" (Simon vs. Garfunkel)
- Episode – "In the Name of the Grandfather" (mentioned)
- Episode – "Girl's in the Band" (mentioned)
