EABF GABF

FABF is the sixteenth production season of The Simpsons. Al Jean served as the showrunner for the season. The episodes mostly aired in broadcast season 15 on Fox, with six rollover episodes from the production season airing in broadcast season 16. The episodes aired from December 7, 2003 with "Today I Am a Clown", to January 16, 2005 with "Midnight Rx".

When Krusty admits he never had a bar mitzvah, he turns to his father, Rabbi Krustofsky, for help. Later, Krusty realizes his shooting schedule has him working on the Sabbath and proposes hiring a guest host. Not wanting to hire anyone who might upstage him or threaten his career, Krusty hires Homer as his replacement.

When Homer spends a large amount of money on a frivolous gift for himself at Christmas, the family has very little to spend on the holidays. A Christmas film gives Homer a change of heart and he becomes the nicest man in Springfield. But when he takes some advice from Lisa the wrong way, he gets led astray.

After babies of Springfield riot at a Roofi concert, an anti-children group is formed. Marge tries to rally the townspeople to fight against the group and the proposed law changes.

Bart and Homer enter a Robot Rumble competition, but when Homer isn't able to build a decent robot, he decides to adjust the robot so that he can operate it from the inside. Meanwhile, Snowball II dies and Lisa tries to replace her with another cat.

Marge is inspired to write a romance novel, though after Homer hears rumors that Marge is secretly in love with Ned Flanders due to the storyline of the novel, he grows jealous. Meanwhile, Homer buys an ambulance and becomes an ambulance driver.

When the Springfield Library becomes low on books, the children of Springfield Elementary don't have enough resources to do research for their history papers. To help out, Marge gives the kids verbal anecdotes about historical figures, including tales of King Henry VIII, Sacagawea's assistance to the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and a very Bart-like Mozart feuding with his sister Salieri.

Bart is heartbroken when Milhouse and his mother move away to Capital City. Desperate to fill Milhouse's shoes, Bart attempts to find a new best friend with no such luck. When Bart decides to pay Milhouse a visit, he is shocked to see his once meek best friend has reinvented himself. Meanwhile, Homer pretends to be poor to get money off strangers.

Marge's old prom date Artie Ziff returns to Springfield, having lost his money and his Internet business, and asks to stay with the Simpsons until he gets back on his feet. What Artie doesn't tell them is that he's also a fugitive from justice, sought by the SEC for cheating his stockholders.

On a trip to Northern California, Homer and Marge find that they have fun drinking together. When drunk driving home, Homer crashes the car before moving Marge into the driver's seat, pinning the blame on her. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa confront the creator of Cosmic Wars over the quality of the new film.

After playing a prank on the whole town, Bart is sentenced to six months of juvenile detention. There he meets Gina Vendetti, who forces Bart to escape with her.

When Principal Skinner gets cold feet before his wedding to Edna Krabappel, she calls off the wedding. Determined to win her back, Skinner enlists Homer's help. Meanwhile, Marge is convinced Edna can do better. Edna rebounds into a relationship with Comic Book Guy, who whisks her off to a comic book convention. But Skinner is determined to win her back.

When Homer admits that Marge was not his first kiss, he recounts the story of his first smooch at summer camp with an anonymous girl—who turns out to be Marge after all. Following their first kiss, young Homer and Marge planned to meet again, but Homer accidentally returned to the wrong camp. Marge admits to Homer that believing her first kiss had stood her up caused her 30 years of heartbreak.

When Lisa is humiliated at the Springfield County Fair, Homer becomes Pie Man, a costumed vigilante who throws pies at his enemies. But Pie Man's sense of justice gets twisted when Mr. Burns unmasks him and turns him into his personal hitman.

When Mr. Burns terminates the employee prescription drug program, the citizens of Springfield are no longer able to afford their very expensive but much-needed prescription drugs. In order to keep the town medicated, Homer, Grampa, Apu, and Flanders travel to Canada to buy the drugs with fake Canadian health care cards.

When Bart accidentally 'moons' the American flag at a school function and Homer says he hates America on national TV, the Simpsons are labeled as unpatriotic and are arrested for high treason. They then embark on a cross-country mission to the nation's capital to prove they love America.

After scathing articles about Mr. Burns are published in newspapers, Burns buys all the media outlets. In response to the propaganda Burns is now pushing, Lisa decides to start her own paper and writes an article about Mr. Burns' manipulation. Furious, Burns attempts to take down Lisa's paper, but she refuses to go quietly.

After Bart gets a 100 on a test without cheating, Marge throws him a party—a boring party. Thinking that none of her kids appreciates her, she finds Nelson in the park and gives him lunch, which leads to Marge looking after him. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes conscious about her weight after she is teased at school.

When Bart writes slogans on t-shirts, he catches the attention of Goose Gladwell, a gag gift entrepreneur, and starts raking in the cash from t-shirt sales. With Bart now the breadwinner, Homer feels he no longer has a place in the family. But when Gladwell is revealed as a fraud, Homer steps in to defend his son.

Marge runs into her former high school pal Chloe Talbot, who is now a famous news reporter. While Lisa has become enamored with Chloe's worldliness, Marge becomes jealous and wonders if she made the right decision by choosing family over a career.

In "The Ned Zone", Ned Flanders gains the power of foretelling people's deaths after suffering a head injury and is shocked to discover that he will be the one to kill Homer. In "Four Beheadings and a Funeral", set in Victorian London, Master Detective Eliza Simpson and her faithful sidekick, Dr. Bartley, attempt to catch the Mutton Chop Murderer. In "In the Belly of the Boss", Maggie is shrunken inside a vitamin capsule in a freak science accident and is swallowed by Mr. Burns, and the Simpsons go to save her.
