Babies Are Like Scientists is a The Simpsons Comic Strips story.

Synopsis[edit]

Marge reads that babies are like scientists, so she and Homer see what Maggie has discovered so far.

Plot[edit]

Marge reads in a magazine that babies are like scientists because they conduct little experiments to learn about the world. Homer asks what Maggie has discovered so far. Maggie's first experiment is with gravity. Her hypothesis is that gravity makes things fall down. She flings food at Marge, annoying her, and comes to the conclusion that her parents do not appreciate gravity. Her second experiment is about strength, with the hypothesis that humans are stronger than dogs. She holds onto Santa's Little Helper's tail, who drags Maggie around, so she comes to the conclusion that dogs are the superior species. Maggie's third experiment is about attention. Her hypothesis is that high-frequency sounds attract attention, which she tests while Homer is stacking wine glasses. Maggie's scream causes the glasses to smash, and Marge checks on Maggie to make sure she's okay, which Maggie sees as a positive result.
