Halloween
Halloween is an American horror film series created by filmmaker John Carpenter and producer Debra Hill, beginning with the 1978 film of the same name. The series centers on Michael Myers, a masked killer who escapes from a psychiatric institution and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, to murder people, often targeting Laurie Strode. It explores themes of fear, survival, trauma, and the persistence of evil. The franchise has expanded into numerous films, novels, comic books, and video games, becoming one of the most influential series in the slasher horror genre.
Among its most notable installments are Halloween (1978), which introduced Michael Myers and established the franchise's central premise, Halloween II (1981), which continues the events of the original film, and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982), a standalone story unrelated to Michael Myers. Other prominent entries include Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), Halloween (2007), a remake directed by Rob Zombie, and Halloween (2018), which disregards the continuity of most previous sequels. The latter film began a new trilogy, followed by Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022).
