KABF MABF

LABF is the twenty-first production season of The Simpsons. Al Jean served as the showrunner for the season. The episodes mostly aired in broadcast season 20 on Fox, with eight rollover episodes from the production season airing in broadcast season 21. The episodes aired from February 15, 2009 with "Take My Life, Please", to January 10, 2010 with "Once Upon a Time in Springfield".

The LABF season also included the special documentary The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice!

Bart and other underachievers of Springfield Elementary School are sent on a surprise trip to Capital City to keep them from taking a national assessment test, while Lisa struggles with it after only getting 96% in the practice test. Meanwhile, Homer forgets to send in an insurance payment on time and has to prevent anybody from getting hurt in his house.

When the adjustable rate on Homer and Marge's mortgage resets at more than they can afford, they must put their home up for sale. Good Samaritan Ned Flanders buys the house and rents it out to them at an affordable rate. But Homer pushes his luck too far when he takes advantage of Ned's generosity.

Lisa infiltrates a convent in order to steal back Maggie, who is accidentally taken in by nuns. While there, Lisa uncovers a series of cryptic clues leading to a hidden jewel in Springfield. But Springfield's Freemasons are also hot on the trail of the jewel. Meanwhile, Homer does his best to convince a temporarily blind Marge that Maggie is still with them.

It turns out that Reverend Lovejoy didn't have a valid license to perform weddings when he presided over Homer and Marge's remarriage, so they have to get married again. But just when the wedding is about to start, Homer disappears, and the only clue is a key attached to a keychain marked "SB".

Moe develops an Internet relationship with a beautiful woman named Maya. When the two agree to meet face to face, Moe is shocked to discover that Maya is three feet tall. Meanwhile, Marge wants Homer to spend more time with Maggie. Homer obliges and finds himself in luck when he discovers a children's play area right next to Moe's Tavern.

Bart volunteers at the Springfield Retirement Castle in order to impress Jenny, a girl who likes helping the world, but this leaves Milhouse less than impressed. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes depressed when she writes a report on what Springfield will be like 50 years from now, but her new medication makes her start hallucinating.

When Homer sees Bart's antics and Lisa's unpopularity at school, he becomes a helicopter parent, refusing to let them do anything alone. But a dream he has shows that might not be the best course of action for their development. Meanwhile, Marge finds a secret sauna in the basement and keeps it to herself.

Lisa and Marge tell stories about great women while having a mani-pedi. The first is about Queen Elizabeth I, who was great despite not having a husband. The second story is of Snow White and the Seven Legally-Distinct Dwarfs. The third is about Homer taking part in a play about Macbeth, with Marge helping him get a bigger role by murdering the other actors. The final story is about Maggie Roark in a parody of The Fountainhead.

Homer pretends to live in Waverly Hills so that Bart and Lisa can move to a better school. Homer has to stay in a shabby apartment until the city inspector visits to make sure they are actually living there. Meanwhile, Lisa's lack of knowledge about Alaska Nebraska makes her unpopular, until Bart spreads a rumor about her being friends with the singer.

The Simpsons travel to Ireland to allow Grampa to have one last beer at his beloved O'Flanagan's Pub. However, Homer and Grampa drunkenly purchase the pub from Tom O'Flanagan. While they try to bring the pub back to its glory days, Marge, Bart, and Lisa explore Ireland.

Ogdenville's economy takes a tumble after tainted barley is discovered in Krusty's veggie burgers, and the unemployed of Ogdenville flock to Springfield. When Mayor Quimby closes off the town's borders and enlists private citizens to help patrol them, Homer puts together a border patrol group. Meanwhile, the number of Ogdenvillians in town causes issues for the locals.

Comic Book Guy creates his own comic book, Everyman, which becomes a huge hit. A film based on the comic is produced, starring Homer, but development has many problems, including Comic Book Guy getting shut out of his own creation.

In "Dial 'M' for Murder or Press # to Return to Main Menu," Lisa is forced into a murder scheme by Bart. In "Don't Have a Cow, Mankind," Springfield is once again overrun by zombies thanks to Krusty Burger's latest burger. Finally, in "There's No Business Like Moe Business," a musical has Moe bleeding Homer dry to create the perfect microbrewed beer.

Bart gets Mrs. Krabappel drunk in an attempt to get her to loosen up, which leads to her getting fired by Principal Skinner. A cool new teacher, Zachary Vaughn, takes over the class in her stead. While Edna opens a muffin store and seems to enjoy her life, she still longs to remain a teacher.

When Marge protests a violent full contact sport, the promoter, Chett Englebrick, offers her a compromise: If Marge wins in a fight against him, the competition will get shut down. Fearing for her safety, Homer brings in professionals to train Marge.

Bart finds out about legendary prankster Andy Hamilton and tracks him down to learn his ways. The two of them become friends until Bart gets Andy a job working on The Krusty the Clown Show. After a rough start, all seems to be going well until Bart thinks Andy is going to pull one of his pranks on Krusty himself.

After stumbling upon some teenage Wiccans, Lisa accepts an invitation to join their coven. Just before Lisa is inducted, they are arrested on charges of witchcraft, and Lisa becomes the chief witness in the trial. Meanwhile, Homer starts to hang out with his new pal Cletus after discovering the slack-jawed yokel makes moonshine and becomes the local moonshine taste-tester.

Krusty is forced to add a female co-star named Princess Penelope to his show in order to attract more female viewers. She immediately overshadows Krusty as the ratings improve. However, the two of them end up falling in love. Meanwhile, Homer, Lenny, and Carl consider working at a competing nuclear plant when Mr. Burns cuts off their daily donut service.
