Description

This level also introduces Bart's Bartman power and (only in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox version) the ability to turn into "Robot Bart", his invincibility ability. Homer in this level cannot turn into the Homer Ball as he did for a brief time in the previous level and can only move around, activate switches, jump, and attack. This level also features Raphael and Sideshow Mel as security guards enemies and Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney as mini-boss enemies.

Synopsis

"After Bart finds out that he has video game abilities, he and Homer enter a cave below the Springfield Natural History Museum and end up stopping Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney from robbing the place."

Plot

Bart buys a copy of Grand Theft Scratchy: Blood Island but Marge comes and confiscates it from Bart and hides it in Homer's underwear drawer where she put his swimsuit magazines and his BB gun. Bart then angrily walks into an alley when an instruction book to The Simpsons Game falls from the sky, which appears to be a lot bigger than the real one. Bart then discovers that his whole family are characters in the game and they all have powers. Bart reads his power is turning into Bartman. Then Homer comes by with a swimsuit magazine and a BB gun that he found in his underwear drawer and then they decide to go in the sewer. Apparently the sewer leads to the natural history museum. Bart and Homer then find out that Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney are robbing the museum and decide to stop them. After Bart and Homer defeat some security guards on the way, Bart jumps to the top of a tree and uses his slingshot to drop dinosaur bones on Dolph. Then they get to a museum game in which Homer has to activate some targets in a window and Bart has to use his slingshot to throw rocks to them and scare Kearney, who is in the back of the window. After they knockout Kearney, they end up in the astronomy exhibit of the museum. Bart climbs a lot of platforms to get to a U.F.O. at the top of a giant planet Earth representation where Jimbo is. Bart and Homer then knockout Jimbo. Principal Skinner then comes in and says he hired the bullies to steal the exhibits because they cannot get real science stuff for the school. Soon Chief Wiggum arrests Skinner after arriving at the museum no thanks to incomprehensible directions from Mapquest.

Gameplay

Once entering the cave, the player needs to jump across a gap then use Bart to shoot at a crate to break it and reveal a ledge to climb. Once the player climbs the ledge, Bart needs to use a power shot to destroy a large stack of crates. This leads to an Aztec ruin. Stand on the pressure pad on the left to activate a staircase. Have Bart climb the staircase then get Homer to stand on the other pressure pad, which activates the next staircase. Have Bart climb that then jump and glide over to the center pressure pad as Bartman. This activates the bridge across the chasm. Have Bart climb the vines to the upper platform and knock down a bouncing platform for Homer to jump up on. Then have Homer and Bart stand on the pressure pads together, opening up the entrance to the museum.

In the museum, security guards will attack the player. The player must then climb up onto the T-Rex bones and have Homer weigh it down. Bartman must then go over the tail and jump into the next room. Bart can then pull a lever to open the doors to let Homer through. Beat up the next security guards then have Bartman jump on the pterodactyls then use the slingshot to knock some dinosaur bones onto Dolph. This also opens up the way forward. Continue on to the next room and equip the RoboBart power up. Use the lasers to shoot at the targets in the History of Man exhibit and chase Kearney through it. Once Kearney breaks open the wall at the end, beat Kearney up.

Move on to the final room, the Planetarium. Have Bartman climb up the wall and jump over to the space shuttle then the planets until Bart gets to the center planet. Use the platforms to get up to the UFO where Jimbo is. Jimbo will then jump out so you can beat him up. Knock out Jimbo to complete the level.
