The Springfield Fire Department is the fire department in Springfield.
History
When Homer wakes up while driving, causing him to crash into the Fire Department, injuring all the firemen and landing them in the hospital. While they recuperate, Homer, Apu, Moe, and Principal Skinner become volunteer firefighters.
In a parade they fought against the Police tank. This caused the tank to empty out and being unable to estinguish the fire on the Quick & Fresh. Cletus and Carl had meanwhile joined the volunteers.
Behind the Laughter
- Lance Wilder, the show's background design supervisor since season 2, modeled the fire station after his hometown of Chelmsford, Massachusetts' fire department's headquarters station.[1]
