Die Hard is an American action film series that originated with Roderick Thorp's novel Nothing Lasts Forever. All five films revolve around the main character of John McClane, a New York City/Los Angeles police detective who continually finds himself in the middle of a crisis where he is the only hope against disaster.

198	"The Trouble with Trillions"	Agent Johnson, one of the FBI Agents who placed Homer on the job, was apparently named after one of the FBI Agents from Die Hard.
11	227	"Beyond Blunderdome"	In the Mr. Smith Goes to Washington remake, Homer says "I second that motion... with a vengeance.", referencing Die Hard with a Vengeance.
15	315	"My Mother the Carjacker"	Die Hard is one of Homer's favorite movies.
19	410	"E Pluribus Wiggum"	When the word got out that the Simpsons hadn't yet decided who to vote for, a horde of candidates and media representatives descended on the Simpson home, among them Fred Thompson. Homer threw them all out, but Thompson lingered, hiding behind a large house plant. Homer then addressed him specifically: "You too, Fred Thompson!" Thompson protested that he had been in Die Hard, but Homer scoffed and scornfully said, Die Hard 2!" Thompson then meekly left.
24	526	"Pulpit Friction"	Elijah Hooper tells everyone not to waste their Sunday listening to him and to go home and watch a Die Hard movie on TV, stating that they're always on and are always good.
28	600	"Treehouse of Horror XXVII"	The title of this segment is a reference to Die Hard.
29	637	"Left Behind"	Homer's list includes "All the Die Hard movies".
32	700	"Manger Things"	Homer says he redeemed himself at Christmas like the Grinch, John McClane (as the Die Hard guy), and Scrooged.
