Season 24 is the twenty-fourth season of The Simpsons, which started on September 30, 2012 and ends in May 2013. This season was renewed along with a 25th season.^[2]

To celebrate the premiere of Season 24, on September 28, 2012, players of iOS game The Simpsons: Tapped Out were greeted with a notice that to celebrate the premiere, they have been given a Duff racecar from the Springfield Grand Prix. A quest was then given to place the Duff racer.

The Simpsons adopt a mini-black hole that is growing more powerful. It has an interesting reaction to Bart feeding it his math homework. Comic Book Guy inserts Disney's The Black Hole into the black hole. While enjoying his time alone, Homer gets distracted by "Villageville" - a super-addictive tablet game in which he is able to create his own virtual village - and loses the family dog, Santa's Little Helper. ??? - ? "Whiskey Business" Spring 2012 Sonny Rollins appears as a hologram to Lisa when she takes exception to a "Tupac-at-Cochella"-style hologram of blues icon Bleeding Gums Murphy and starts a letter writing campaign to stop this holographic exploitation.[20] Guest starring: Sonny Rollins ??? - ? "Pulpit Friction" The town is infested with bedbugs, and Lovejoy can’t cope. He’s so boring, nobody will listen to him in the middle of this panic. But then, the most lovable minister visits Springfield and he is much more popular than Reverend Lovejoy. Lovejoy becomes really upset and becomes a hot tub salesman.[21] Bart and Flanders are the only ones unhappy with the new minister, and try to figure out how to get Lovejoy back, despite Lovejoy loving his job. Meanwhile, Itchy & Scratchy Land closes down and Homer and Bart get a small steam train from the park, restore it and install it in their back garden. This attracts the attention of fellow model-train enthusiasts like Rev. Lovejoy and Comic Book Guy, who at first just want to help out, but then end up taking over.[31][32] ??? - ? Bart is actually wrongly accused of a crime, of a prank and Lisa is his defender and she gets her comeuppance as always. She gets a little high on her horse.[33] ??? - ? Season finale May 2013 David Silverman[34] Al Jean (co-writer) The Simpsons go to an amusement park where the lines for the rides are terrible, except for this one rocket called Journey to Your Future.
