History[edit]

Interior

When Homer told his friends that the rapture was coming, Moe sold his tavern to Japanese investors who turned it into Tokyo Roe's Sushi Bar. When the rapture didn't come, Moe started working in the sushi bar. When Homer talked with God in heaven, he persuaded God to undo all of the changes that had happened, including turning the sushi bar back into Moe's Tavern.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

The restaurant's name is a pun on "Tokyo Rose", a generic nickname for female broadcasters of Japanese propaganda during World War II.
