Season 36 is the current season of The Simpsons. It started on September 29, 2024 and was included on Disney+ on October 3, 2024 in Canada. It was confirmed on January 26, 2023, along Season 35.[1][2]

Upcoming plots

  • The first several episodes are detours through sci-fi and horror.[49]
  • In one episode, Marge's self-image in the town that everyone thinks she's a good person is at stake when Homer and Marge have to respond to a kidnapping and extortion situation. The kidnappers have not yet been decided on, but they're thinking of Jimbo and Shauna.[50]
  • One episode in the first half of the season will be dedicated to Ned Flanders reflecting on the deaths of Maude Flanders and Edna Krabappel, because it's "never too late to emotionally address a past trauma".[49]
  • One episode will reference the court room scene from the film Anatomy of a Fall.[51]
  • There are not plans of another cannon halloween episodes for now.[52]
  • One idea Al Jean has is Willie posing on OnlyFans.[13]
  • Michael Price is co-writing an episode that started as Homer being like Ned Merrill, but going home by invading people's backyard barbecues. It still has a slight Cheever-ish aspect to it but they lost the BBQs.[53]
