Synopsis[edit]
- Is Bart Simpson truly a bad seed? Homer and Marge must find out once and for good.
Plot[edit]
Jerry Seinfeld is hosting Comedians in Cars Kvetching, presenting Mr. Burns' Ford Model T. He has one of his guys get Burns out before inviting Krusty on and starting to complain about modern kids. Shortly after, Jay Leno and the Carpool Karaoke crash into or next to them. The show is watched by the Simpson family, who try changing the channel to find another good show, but when they find none, Lisa asks Marge to tell them a story of when Bart and she were younger.
When Bart and Homer start their usual banter, Marge thinks of a story from four years ago when they believed Bart was truly a bad boy. Homer is reading some scary books to Lisa, and when she asks him to stop, Bart releases a frog on her face. His misbehavior is attributed to Homer's, as he often forgets Bart is even there or steals his food.
Homer then forces Bart to use his right hand instead of his left as dominant, while Milhouse discovers he is not stupid and just needs glasses, and Nelson starts using his "Ha-ha"s, and he and Dolph start bullying. That's when Bart starts plotting against his bully, Homer, by making blocks fall on his face—his first prank.
They try everything to fix him, but he keeps pulling pranks on Homer, including gluing his beer to his hand, replacing his sandwich with one made of toys, and making him and 911 responders slip on toy cars. In the end, they try psychologist Dr. Leonard Stern, who determines Bart is a psycho and needs to be taken into custody at his facility, transported in an ice cream truck. As a last gift, he gives Bart some candies, but Bart takes a year's worth of them, not knowing they are medication.
At night, Homer dreams about Bart entering Springfield Children's Reformatory and how life would be in it, so he tries to break Bart out of prison, but his electric blanket electrocutes him. To save him, he takes Bart for a ride at night in the car. Lisa starts telling the story then. They need essential supplies, so they stop at Drunken Donuts, where they manage to get some donuts while avoiding the police. During the drive, they start bonding, sharing a donut, and Homer finally sees how much Bart is like him.
They try to leave the States toward Canada but are stopped at the border, so they sleep at the treehouse Homer built to get away from his father, realizing how his relationship with Bart could be a result of his own with Grampa. In the morning, the ice cream truck arrives. They try to take Bart away but drug Homer instead, who realizes in his head that Bart is not a bad kid, that it was his fault, and that he loves him.
Dr. Leonard shows off the court order, but Homer convinces him otherwise, and he leaves them alone. This is just the beginning of fending them off, however, and someone knocks at the door—though it's Ned trying to share some cookies, which Homer takes.
