Special Information
|
The Simpsons Funday Football is a The Simpsons special. It originally aired on Disney+ and ESPN+ on December 9, 2024. The special features commentary from Drew Carter, Mina Kimes, and Dan Orlovsky. Stephen A. Smith, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Scott Van Pelt also make appearances.
Synopsis[edit]
- "It is a football faceoff with Bart and the Cincinnati Bengals vs Homer and the Dallas Cowboys, live from Springfield. Homer and Bart lead their teams and sometimes play on the field while Marge and Lisa interview players during the game."
After seeing Bart playing games on his Funtendo Glitch and breaking it in half, Homer and Bart decide to play a football game together, with Bart and his friends versus Homer and his friends. After losing horribly due to his fitness, Homer falls asleep on the couch watching Monday Night Football and dreams that he is taking part in the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys football game. When Homer wakes up, he tells his family about his dream, and claims that he won (even though his team lost), and Homer, Bart, Nelson, Milhouse, and Ralph go to watch Scott Van Pelt. In the real world, Van Pelt wakes up, revealing that it was all his hot dog-induced dream.
Segments during the game include Bart prank calling Moe, Lisa and Marge interviewing the players for both teams, and Professor Frink explaining football terms and plays.
