"Medal of Homer" is the thirteenth level of The Simpsons Game. To open the door of the creator's mansion, the Simpsons have to get the four keycards in the four worlds created by the creator. The third portal takes Homer and Bart to the World War II, with younger Abraham and Mr. Burns.

Description
After completing the "Bargain Bin" level, four new levels unlock at the Game Hub. While you can choose any order, the story leads to this level next. It's the first level where Bart can use his wrist rocket for more range and damage, and his super-cape to glide further for a longer time. The level is split into three areas, each set in a different location.
Plot
Bart and Homer are sent back to World War II, where they meet a young Grampa and Mr. Burns in the army. Sergeant Simpson informs Homer and Bart about their mission: Germany plans to attack the French city of St. de Capitulons, which supplies snails to the French Army. Homer and Bart parachute into the city, where they see Üter throw a rock at a window, causing the French to surrender with white flags. Abe and Burns order them to remove the surrender flags scattered around the town. Private Burns suggests looting French paintings "for safekeeping". After collecting all the flags, Homer and Bart must escort a truck carrying the paintings through Kasserine Pass filled with tanks and mines. After safely escorting the truck, they learn Burns has stolen the paintings and taken them to his aircraft carrier, the U.S.S Reel Crazy. The Hellfish squad provides air support while Homer and Bart board the ship. Homer uses C4 explosives to destroy rocket launchers, and Bart uses air currents to reach Burns' platform and defeat him. Back in St. De Capitulons, the French thank Homer and Bart for returning the paintings, and one even kisses Homer, tickling him with his moustache. Bart asks Homer if he can drink wine like the other kids, but Homer refuses. They later discover the Hellfish keycard hidden behind one of the paintings.
Gameplay
The French are ready to surrender, with white flags everywhere. Your goal is to remove all the white flags, which are mostly on buildings but citizens carry some. To find the flags, press Back and Y to open the map. Start as Bart and collect flags on the left, then move to the right side of the village, focusing on the rooftops. You can get 22 out of 24 flags in the village as Bart. The last two flags are at the church—one by the waterwheel and the other on top of the steeple.
In Kasserine Pass, start by destroying the landmines and shooting the turrets and tanks ahead using Bart’s slingshot or Homer’s Gummi form. Stay ahead of the truck and take out the weapons to keep it safe. If you run out of ammo, switch to Bart or break crates for more. (Xbox 360/PS3 version only)
On the U.S.S Reel Crazy, make your way from the deck to the crow’s nest. Use Bartman’s grapple to reach the lever, making sure Homer is on the orange boat. Homer plants C4 on steel doors, and Bart glides up using updrafts created by explosions. Kick down life preservers for Homer as you go. Use C4 to destroy turret guns, then climb nets and fight through sailors to advance. Continue using C4 and updrafts to navigate, kick down life preservers for Homer, and clear turret guns. Eventually, Bart reaches level D-5, and Homer follows by blowing doors and pipes. Finally, use the helium tank to float Homer up to the crow’s nest. Bart uses updrafts to reach Burns. Beat Burns, collect the paintings, and grab the keycard. Mission complete!
