Contents
Description
The playable characters of this level are Homer and Bart. It is one of the timed levels and the only one without any enemies.
Synopsis
- "The Simpsons are transported to the game engine, where Will Wright, a video game creator, wants to destroy older version of the Simpsons."
Plot
The Simpsons face off against the alien mothership, which shoots lasers at them. Bart notices that after every four laser bursts, a hatch opens, which is the weak spot. Kang and Kodos overhear this and decide to destroy the whole town, knowing the Simpsons can't stop them. With no more upgrades in their game manual, Bart and Lisa head into their house to find cheats online. Bart finds a website for The Simpsons Game, but before he can explain what they need to do, Homer interrupts to play Solitaire. Homer puts his beer on the disc tray, and when it closes, the beer spills, causing a short-circuit that transports the Simpsons into the game engine.
There, Will Wright, creator of The Sims, appears and explains that his new game, Sims Sandwich, failed and drove him mad. Now, he lives inside the game engine and destroys old, forgotten video games, including Escape from Krusty Island, where 8-bit versions of the Simpsons are trapped. Homer and Bart must rescue them before they get incinerated. After jumping across platforms and solving puzzles, they reach a lever to turn off the incinerator. As they enter an elevator, Will Wright blames some "jerks at EA" for everything, claiming they were jealous of him.
Homer and Bart exit an elevator into the Game Hub. Marge and Lisa join them, and the family meets their 8-bit counterparts. The 8-bit Simpsons warn the modern family that their game will also become obsolete someday. Lisa agrees, explaining that no video game is safe from the constantly changing industry. The 8-bit family suggests that the only way to stop the destruction is to confront "the creator" in his mansion. To get through the gates, they must enter the new Simpsons games being developed, find four key cards, and combine them to open the gate.
Gameplay
There is a three minute timer for this level. Have Bartman grappling hook across the gap and pull the lever to let Homer cross. Turn Homer int Homer Ball and dash through the cracked wall to break it. Go down the ramp and turn left. Hit a target with Bart's slingshot to create the bridge. Follow the path forward until you get to the next gap. Have Homer use Homer Ball to dash through the barrels and grappling hook over with Bart. Do the same to get to the next platform after this. Jump up on the jump pad and follow the path along. Get Bart and Homer over to the platform by using Homer Ball and the grappling hook again. Have both characters stand on the buttons to open the door to the lever. Pull the lever to end the level.
Things To Do
- Shut down the cartridge incinerator.
