The food on the Izzy's Deli menu is called after American personalities, including entertainer Joey Bishop, stand-up comedian Jackie Mason, and actor Bruce Willis.[1]
In 1985, there was an Izzy's Deli in front of Moe's Cavern.[2]
The owner of the deli was one of several restaurant proprietors in Springfield who plotted to assassinate Homer for giving their restaurants bad reviews.[3]
