Citizen Kane is a 1941 film, directed by and starring Orson Welles. It is often cited as "the greatest film of all time", because of its visual inventiveness to tell a story about the rise and fall of a succesful businessman. Naturally the film has been referenced countless times on The Simpsons. In fact, the show's writers have joked that "Citizen Kane" and The Godfather have been spoofed so often that those movies could be reconstructed entirely out of Simpsons clips.
