At the Simpsons House, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, Maggie and the characters see the aliens attacking Springfield. Lisa has an idea and uses the Buddha's Hand to drop many buildings and road portions one on each other to make a ladder to the Heaven. Everybody scales it and make it to the gate of the Heaven, except for Homer and Bart. The gate is closed by William Shakespeare, who attacks them. They fight him while Marge and Lisa watch them behind the gate. After he is defeated, they cross the gate and enter the Heaven. The walls on each side are clouds, the floor is just grass, there are two gold buildings next to the path, one full of arcade video games and a giant gold "Atari" controller. On each side, there are small houses, belonging to the deceased people who now live in the Heaven. The Simpsons meet old enemies: the lumbermen from "Lisa the Tree Hugger" and the Rigellian aliens from "Invasion of the Yokel-Snatchers", all with halos on their heads. After beating them all, they get to a huge hole in the middle of the Heaven. The two paths on each side are closed, so they have to cross it. There are hundreds of clouds on the bottom and small clouds floating on it. Lisa uses the Buddha's Hand to place Elvis' golf grass on the clouds so Bart can grapple to the other side and pull the lever that opens the locked paths. Now, they are in a big steam baths building, with more aliens at the entrance. Homer, as Homer Ball, boosts inside and opens the door. The dolphins from "The Day of the Dolphin" come from little pools inside. Lisa uses the Buddha's Hand freeze power to freeze a dolphin and place the ice block on some burning coals, making steam coming from it. Bart, as Bartman, floats on the steam and jumps on the roof. Homer does the same as "Heli-Homer". They both step on two pressure pads to open the door and allow Marge and Lisa to rejoin them. On the other side, there are two "Skybucks" coffee shops, one under construction. Marge joins to her mob the creatures (Rod, Todd and Ralph) from "NeverQuest" and orders them to build the coffee shop. Benjamin Franklin comes out with a coffee and Lisa asks him to open the gate to God's apartment. He disagrees and attacks them with thunders. They defeat him and step on the mechanic escalator to the entrance. They find God on his couch playing video games next to his dancing floor. They tell him to stop playing with their lives, which angers God. They now have to defeat him on a "Dance Dance Revolution" game on his dancing floor. Previous levels characters come as rows from God to the Simpsons, and they have to jump on the arrow tiles, depending on what line they come from. God is using his "Praystation" video game console, after it is destroyed, his "Xodus Box" console, then his "Hii" console, then his "I Am" console, until he is beaten. They order him to explain them the meaning of life after Bart pretends to destroy his "Infinite MB Memory Card". God says "The Simpsons Game" is just a mini-game in his favorite video game: "Planet Earth", in which you can create a family and order them to do whatever you want. He also explains how Bart found the Simpsons game guide (in "Bartman Begins"): while playing, God accidentally threw the guide away and it fell down to Earth. Lisa then asks God he ever wondered he is a video game character. Then, Ralph is seen playing "The Simpsons Game", comes to the screen and tells his dad someone is looking at him. The level ends after the TV turns off.

All of the Game Engine is collapsing and all the enemies and characters from the four worlds, come out to escape. The only portal left holding is the one to Springfield so they all head in. A sign falls on a Morc (from "NeverQuest"), and although he resists the weight, the young Mr. Burns (from "Medal of Homer") tells him to wait to go for some paintings, so the sign splats Morc.

William Shakespeare is guarding Heaven's gate. Use Bart or Gummi Homer to knock him off his cloud. Attack him when he's on the ground before he teleports back up. Keep attacking until Shakespeare is defeated.
 +

 +
After you defeat Shakespeare, move through the gate, go left, and use the cloud trampoline to reach the roof. Drop down and either fight or avoid the loggers. Look for a giant star on the ground, pass it, and grapple up to the putting greens. Jump and glide between greens until you reach the highest one. Glide to the lever and pull it to open the gates.
 +

 +
At the bottom of the stairs, use the robot helmet to defeat the aliens. Then, Homer Ball burst over the gate and flip the switch to enter the steam bath. Use the Buddha statue to freeze some dolphins, and place a cube on the hot coals to create an updraft for Bart to glide over the roof. Switch to Homer, inhale helium to escape, and stand on the pressure plates to open the gate.
 +

 +
Marge can control the mob to get the Mobbits to finish the Skybucks coffee shop. Benjamin Franklin appears, blocking the gate to God. Assign the Mobbits as distractions, then use Marge's megaphone to attack Franklin. When he splits into smaller versions, use Gummi Homer's grenades or Bart's slingshot and Lisa's saxophone to finish them off.
 +

 +
Finally, face the last boss: God. He challenges the Simpsons to a Dance Dance Revolution battle. Press the correct buttons as dancers approach. The number and speed of dancers will increase with each round. Pay close attention to the closest dancers and press the buttons quickly. After round 3, you'll win, and God will reveal the meaning of the Simpsons' existence.

The level layout is mostly the same, but it's adjusted to fit Bart and Lisa's abilities since Marge and Homer aren't available.
 +

 +
After the front gate opens, head inside and fight or avoid the aliens and loggers near the buildings. There are power-ups to help you clear the enemies. Use Lisa's Hand of Buddha to move the golf holes onto the non-solid clouds in the middle. Guide Bart and Lisa to the Hand of Buddha on the cloud, then use Bart to follow the new cloud path and glide to a lever in front of the steam baths building. Pull the lever to open all the golden gates.
 +

 +
Grapple to the trampoline tent and pull the lever to open the steam bath gate for Lisa. Use the Hand of Buddha to place the hot rock in the middle pool, creating an updraft for Bart to glide onto the roof. Pull the lever to let Lisa in. Use the Hand of Buddha to place the coffee shop pieces until it's fully built. Once Benjamin Franklin comes out of the coffee shop, shoot him with Bart's slingshot until he is defeated.

At the start send Maggie through the gate to open it, then recruit Homer. Take down the spawners and enemies while recruiting Homer clones. Once cleared, use the clones to take down the sign and cross over. Defeat the kids and climb to the waterslide to send Maggie down the chute. Cross the new bridge as Marge proceeds.
 +

 +
In the Land of Heavenly Chocolate, head right and use Homer Ball on the ramp to reach the cupcake, which bounces you up. Cross the Chocolate River and hit the red button, then continue up and left to find another dash ramp. This leads to some cloud platforms.
 +

 +
At the Tetris Tower, use the Hand of Buddha to move green blocks into gaps to create steps. Pull the levers to reveal blocks. Use the blocks to reach the top-right corner.
 +

 +
Next, you'll Fight Benjamin Franklin in two phases. In Phase 1, use the Hand of Buddha to block lightning strikes with an umbrella to protect Bart. In Phase 2, control Bart to push the kite into the yellow cloud with his slingshot, while avoiding alien attacks.
 +

 +
After that, Follow the path using platforms and trampolines to navigate. Use moving clouds to reach the upper-right platform and continue until you reach the escalator to God's place.
 +

 +
Attack God's handheld gaming device to get his attention. Use Bart's slingshot to deal with enemies. Jump onto the chair and shoot God's stylus. Repeat the process three times, dealing with stronger enemies like Morcs and lawyers, until you finish the level and God explains himself.

"Game Over" is the sixteenth and last level of The Simpsons Game. After Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, destroys the game engine, the family and the characters from Matt Groening's four worlds go back to Springfield, where Kang and Kodos continue destroying the city. Lisa then uses her "Hand of Buddha" power to build a tower to Heaven and talk to God.

Description[edit]

This is the only level with more than two playable characters. At the beginning, only Homer and Bart can be played. When they enter Heaven, Bart and Lisa are the playable characters only in the Wii/PS2/PSP version, and the entire family only in the Xbox 360/PS3 version. After the level is completed, the credits appear, and, only in the Xbox 360/PS3 version, a table shows the achievements and the percentage completed.

Plot[edit]

Lisa's Tower to Heaven using Springfield buildings

All of the Game Engine is collapsing and all the enemies and characters from the four worlds, come out to escape. The only portal left holding is the one to Springfield so they all head in. A sign falls on a Morc (from "NeverQuest"), and although he resists the weight, the young Mr. Burns (from "Medal of Homer") tells him to wait to go for some paintings, so the sign splats Morc.

At the Simpsons House, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, Maggie and the characters see the aliens attacking Springfield. Lisa has an idea and uses the Buddha's Hand to drop many buildings and road portions one on each other to make a ladder to Heaven. Everybody scales it and makes it to the gate of Heaven, except for Homer and Bart. The gate is closed by William Shakespeare, who attacks them. They fight him while Marge and Lisa watch them behind the gate. After he is defeated, they cross the gate and enter Heaven. On each side, there are small houses, belonging to the deceased people who now live in Heaven. The Simpsons meet old enemies: the lumbermen from "Lisa the Tree Hugger" and the Rigellian aliens from "Invasion of the Yokel-Snatchers", all with halos on their heads. After beating them all, they get to a huge hole in the middle of Heaven. The two paths on each side are closed, so they have to cross it. There are hundreds of clouds on the bottom and small clouds floating on it.

Bart uses the clouds to reach the other side and pull the lever that opens the locked paths. Now, they are in a big steam baths building, with more aliens at the entrance. Homer, as Homer Ball, boosts inside and opens the door. The dolphins from "The Day of the Dolphin" come from little pools inside. Lisa uses the Buddha's Hand freeze power to freeze a dolphin and places the ice block on some burning coals, making steam come from it. Bart floats on the steam and jumps on the roof. Homer does the same as Helium Homer. They both step on two pressure pads to open the door and allow Marge and Lisa to rejoin them. On the other side, there are two "Skybucks" coffee shops, one under construction. Marge recruits some Mobbits (Rod, Todd and Ralph) from "NeverQuest" and orders them to build the coffee shop. Benjamin Franklin comes out with a coffee and Lisa asks him to open the gate to God's apartment. He disagrees and attacks them with thunder. They defeat him and step on the mechanic escalator to God's apartment. They find God on his couch playing video games next to his dancing floor. They tell him to stop playing with their lives, which angers God. They now have to defeat him on a Dance Dance Revolution game on his dancing floor, while a remix of "Rock You Like a Hurricane" plays.

Previous level characters come as rows from God to the Simpsons, and they have to jump on the arrow tiles, depending on what line they come from. God is using his "Praystation" video game console, then after it is destroyed, his "Xodus Box" console, then his "Hii" console, his "I Am" console, until he is beaten, causing a "blue screen of death" to appear that Bart tears away. They order him to explain to them the meaning of life after Bart threatens to destroy his "Infinite MB Memory Card". God says "The Simpsons Game" is just a mini-game in his favorite video game: "Planet Earth", in which you can create a family and order them to do whatever you want. He also explains how Bart found the Simpsons game guide (in "Bartman Begins"): while playing, God accidentally threw the guide away and it fell to Earth. Lisa then asks God if he ever wondered if he is a video game character. As God tries to answer, Ralph is seen playing "The Simpsons Game", then he comes toward the screen and tells his dad someone is looking at him. The level ends after the TV turns off.

Gameplay[edit]

Xbox 360/PS3 Version[edit]

The Dance Dance Revolution game in the Xbox 360/PS3 version

William Shakespeare is guarding Heaven's gate. Use Bart or Gummi Homer to knock him off his cloud. Attack him when he's on the ground before he teleports back up. Keep attacking until Shakespeare is defeated.

Wii/PS2/PSP Version[edit]

Heaven in the Wii/PS2/PSP version

The level layout is mostly the same, but it's adjusted to fit Bart and Lisa's abilities since Marge and Homer aren't available.

DS Version[edit]

Bart inside God's Apartment

At the start send Maggie through the gate to open it, then recruit Homer. Take down the spawners and enemies while recruiting Homer clones. Once cleared, use the clones to take down the sign and cross over. Defeat the kids and climb to the waterslide to send Maggie down the chute. Cross the new bridge as Marge proceeds.

In the Land of Heavenly Chocolate, head right and use Homer Ball on the ramp to reach the cupcake, which bounces you up. Cross the Chocolate River and hit the red button, then continue up and left to find another dash ramp. This leads to some cloud platforms.

At the Tetris Tower, use the Hand of Buddha to move green blocks into gaps to create steps. Pull the levers to reveal blocks. Use the blocks to reach the top-right corner.

After that, Follow the path using platforms and trampolines to navigate. Use moving clouds to reach the upper-right platform and continue until you reach the escalator to God's place.

Attack God's handheld gaming device to get his attention. Use Bart's slingshot to deal with enemies. Jump onto the chair and shoot God's stylus. Repeat the process three times, dealing with stronger enemies like Morcs and lawyers, until you finish the level and God explains himself.
