Slobtown is a district in Springfield.

History

A hundred years ago, when Joe Quimby, Sr. moved to Springfield, he lived and worked in Slobtown. In the 1920s, due to racism towards the Irish, he had a job digging through horse leavings for coins and buttons. When the St. Patrick's Day parade went by, he and Iggy Wiggum saw Rigatoni Spanucci as part of it, and Quimby went to the Spanucci Barrelworks to ask him for a job. Spanucci rejected him due to being Irish, then kicked him into a barrel. Quimby choked Spanucci to death and left a fake will on his body stating that Spanucci had left his Barrelworks to Quimby, which then became known as the Quimby Barrelworks. As soon as he could after this incident, Quimby left Slobtown.

In the 1980s, Beatrice Bouvier took Joe Quimby to Slobtown as part of his mayoral election campaign so he could see how the everyday people lived. He and Beatrice took part in festivities held in Slobtown.

In the present day, Beatrice Bouvier lived in The Lofts at Barrel Heights in Slobtown.
