Microatia is a country in the Pacific ocean.

History

When Homer was trying to escape the PBS mob, Reverend Lovejoy took him to a Christian Relief plane and sent him to Microatia until the heat died down. When Homer arrived, two other missionaries, Craig and Amy, left the island on the same plane. The islanders, who included Qtoktok, Ak, and Lisa, Jr. told Homer that they had been taught how to speak English, and Craig and Amy had started to dig a well and build a chapel for them.

Homer started to settle into life on Microatia and decided to build a casino and teach the islanders how to gamble. He had The Lucky Savage casino built on the island, but the casino quickly fell apart after the islanders became drunk and started to fight. Homer then decided to finish building the chapel since he had made everyone sinners. When the chapel was finished, he and Lisa, Jr. rang the bell, but this caused a landslide from the mountain and an earthquake, which split the ground and the chapel sunk into lava. It is unknown how they escaped from this predicament.
