- The title of the level is a reference to the film Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
- One of the phrases Homer says is "Why can't they be funny aliens, like ALF?"
- Before getting to the tractor beam, the gameplay becomes like Space Invaders.
- Inside the ship, there might appear a picture of Kang and Kodos in a reference to the "All your base are belong to us" meme. Also, both aliens are dressed exactly like the game character who said the phrase.
- Sideshow Bob says "In space, no one can hear you scream", a reference to the movie Alien.
Trivia
- This is the first time urination is depicted in The Simpsons. An alien pees in the fountain before a security guard shows to stop him.
Continuity
- The images of Earth and Springfield inside the spaceship are from The Simpsons Movie.
